Dr David Wilson is an Australian-trained neurosurgeon working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Prince of Wales Private Hospital. He has expertise in the management of brain, spine, and peripheral nerve conditions. David has a special interest in the management of spinal degeneration, tumours, and trauma, as well as brain tumour and epilepsy surgery.

David completed his Bachelor of Medical Science at The University of Sydney in 2003, before obtaining his medical degree at The University of Queensland in 2007. David completed his neurosurgery training across leading Sydney and Brisbane based hospitals, including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, The Princess Alexandra Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, and Sydney Children’s Hospital. He was awarded his fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2022.

David obtained a Masters of Public Health through The University of Newcastle in 2014.

In 2022 David completed a Spinal Trauma and Complex Spinal Fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital. This additional experience further advanced his clinical and surgical skills, providing him with the expertise to treat spinal deformity, traumatic, and oncological conditions.

David is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia, and the Australian Medical Association.

David currently works as a VMO Neurosurgeon at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, and Prince of Wales Private Hospital. He consults from suites in Newtown.
